This Sexy Bodyguard won’t leave you… (Vulnerable by April Wilson)

Vulnerable is the first book in the McIntyre Security Bodyguard series. I found this story to be engrossing, heartfelt and arousing. This is a suspenseful romance that includes plenty of alpha males, a timid broken young woman, and a gorgeous, serious, intense family. Shane McIntyre and Beth Jamison are a endearing, passionate couple that just have to be experienced by the reader first hand. April Wilson does a fantastic job of combining love, sensuality, and mystery. Some of the scenes are titillating while others are raw and dark which draw the reader in and make them feel like they are part of the story.

Shane McIntyre is the alpha male in his world, and he would have to be, to lead many siblings and run a security business. I loved his commanding yet still sensitive presence towards Beth. Who wouldn’t love an older man who is protective, melt in your mouth hot, and knows what he is doing in and out of the bedroom. No wonder Beth couldn’t resist him. I became a fan of Shane early on in the story. He was kick ass and had so much love for his family and concern for Beth. He is a sexy bodyguard that is hot and sweet enough to melt your heart and your panties at the same time. This book had me thinking maybe I needed to go see what kind of trouble I could find so that someone like him would come and rescue me.

“Why did he have to have a voice like a sex god? It was low and just a little bit rough. Just the sound of it made her belly quiver”

Beth is a beautiful young woman who has been traumatized since childhood and yearns for a more intimate connection but is fearful of being victimized again. So she settles for living a solitary life with just her best friend Gabrielle, her older brother Tyler, and some steamy erotica novels. Little does she know that she is capable of so much passion and is strong enough to endure her past as well as any trouble in her future. What she really needs is someone to protect her from herself and fulfill her darker desires. Shane is just the man for the job and will stop at nothing to protect and pleasure her.

“You take my breath away, Beth,” he said, his blue eyes glittering hotly as he looked up and met her gaze in the mirror. “Since the first moment I saw you,  I’ve been a wreck. I want you more than I want my next breath.”

This is a remarkable story that has amazing characters. I found the family dynamics and drama to be intriguing and left me curious to read more about the McIntyre clan. I instantly fell in love with Shane’s sister Lia and all of her spunk and vibrancy. I cannot wait to read more about her story. The interactions between Shane and Beth’s brother Tyler kept me in stitches and wishing for more. This book has plenty of emotional depth, along with enough romance and steam to rise your temperature while simultaneously melting your heart. I highly recommend if you are looking for a gripping story that will keep you on the edge of your seat along with a powerful love story. April Wilson did a wonderful job of leaving enough mystery for another book about Shane and Beth but also giving my heart the Happily Ever After that most of us dreamy eyed romance readers yearn for. She has me hooked and I am definitely staying tuned as I am sure you will be once you read VulnerableVulnerableVulnerable by April Wilson
