Review! Until It Fades by K. A. Tucker

Until it Fades by K.A. Tucker

BLURB

Twenty-four-year-old truck stop waitress and single mother Catherine Wright has simple goals: to give her five-year-old daughter a happy life and to never again be the talk of the town in Balsam, Pennsylvania (population three thousand outside of tourist season).

And then one foggy night, on a lonely road back from another failed date, Catherine saves a man’s life. It isn’t until after the police have arrived that Catherine realizes exactly who it is she has rescued: Brett Madden, hockey icon and media darling.

Catherine has already had her fifteen minutes of fame and the last thing she wants is to have her past dragged back into the spotlight, only this time on a national stage. So she hides her identity. It works. For a time.

But when she finds the man she saved standing on her doorstep, desperate to thank her, all that changes. There’s an immediate connection, and it’s more electric than the bond of two people who endured a traumatic event. It’s something neither of them expected. Something that Catherine isn’t sure she can handle; something she is afraid to trust.

Because how long can an extraordinary man like Brett be interested in an ordinary woman like Catherine…before the spark fades?

OFFICIAL REVIEW!

I received a copy via Net Galley and voluntarily left an honest review.

Never having read a book by K. A. Tucker but loving the interest that was piqued just with the blurb, I dove in heart first into Until It Fades. It wasn’t hard to become immersed into Catherine’s story and become emotionally invested in Catherine’s non stop battle with love, stupidity, and prejudice that all take place in the small town of Balsam Pennsylvania. Tucker evoked so many different emotions throughout Catherine and Brett’s story that I often found myself close to tears of sorrow and frustration. Catherine’s journey was so troubling, profound, and empowering that I couldn’t turn pages fast enough to find out what was going to happen next. Whether Tucker was going to take us back to Catherine’s scandalous past with our hearts in our throat, or on the side of the road watching Catherine miraculously overcome physical limitations with an adrenaline rush, Tucker kept me engrossed from beginning to end!

Catherine Wright is a woman who has been pushed around and taken advantage of from a very young age in life and has still fought to survive. I couldn’t help but admire this young, single mother who will stop at nothing to succeed and overcome all obstacles and cheer for her to find love along the way. She shows unbelievable amounts of tenacity and sheer will power throughout her story and is a heroine that I could look up to in every way!

Brett Madden who is the Captain of the Philadelphia Flyers hockey team shows tenfold in this story that he is so much more than just glistening muscles, a charming smile, and a Hollywood Prince. He is a grounded beautiful hero both inside and out with a new lease on life and he plans on finding the angel who saved him. I fell so hard for Brett from the moment Catherine encountered his bulky frame in the smoldering car and I became his number one fan the more he pursued Catherine at every turn. Nothing is sexier than a man who knows what he wants and goes after it!

K. A. Tucker delivers an emotionally upending story about a young woman full of strength and perseverance that finds love and beats all the odds. I highly recommend Until It Fades for a story that you never want to come to an end. Now that one of K. A. Tuckers stories has embedded its way into my heart, I cannot wait to embark on another journey in one of her fictional worlds!
