Review! Trust by Kylie Scott

Trust by Kylie Scott

Being young is all about the experiences: the first time you skip school, the first time you fall in love…the first time someone holds a gun to your head.

After being held hostage during a robbery at the local convenience store, seventeen-year-old Edie finds her attitude about life shattered. Unwilling to put up with the snobbery and bullying at her private school, she enrolls at the local public high school, crossing paths with John. The boy who risked his life to save hers.

While Edie’s beginning to run wild, however, John’s just starting to settle down. After years of partying and dealing drugs with his older brother, he’s going straight—getting to class on time, and thinking about the future.

An unlikely bond grows between the two as John keeps Edie out of trouble and helps her broaden her horizons. But when he helps her out with another first—losing her virginity—their friendship gets complicated.

Meanwhile, Edie and John are pulled back into the dangerous world they narrowly escaped. They were lucky to survive the first time, but this time they have more to lose—each other.

I received a copy via Net Galley in exchange for an honest review

Never having read a book by Kylie Scott but reading one of the most fascinating blurbs ever, I just knew that I had to indulge in the fictional world of Trust! Now having experienced all the ups and downs and twist and turns from Edie and John’s story, I am ready for much more by this amazing author! Kylie Scott bulldozed me emotionally and left me riveted from the moment Edie walked into that convenient store and fate threw a wrench into both her and John’s life that would change their perspective and journey forever.

Edie Millen grabbed my heart from the moment I was given a glimpse into her insecure seventeen year old mind. I couldn’t help but feel a myriad of emotions for her and find myself firmly entrenched in all of her first time experiences. Some being good and some being crisis situations that most of us have never lived through or ever will. Kylie Scott did a phenomenal job of bringing us into their drama intense teenage world and filling readers to the brim with raw emotion!

I fell so hard for the deep and mysterious reformed bad boy that is John Cole. I couldn’t help but want to be closer to this character and know every dark crevice of his mind. I was truly enthralled and fascinated by every move he made or word he uttered. John became a hero that lived up to the name in every way. He showed us that it is never to late to learn from your mistakes and overcome obstacles.

Kylie Scott delivers a pulse pounding, emotion stirring read that is sure to remain in your thoughts long after the last page is read. I highly recommend Trust for a book that appeals to both YA fans and other romance readers alike. Kylie Scott is an author that portrays untold depth and heart touching characters. I cannot wait to experience more of the fictional worlds this author has to offer!
