Review! Roman Crazy by Alice Clayton & Nina Bocci

Roman Crazy by Alice Clayton

A delicious, sexy, laugh-out-loud modern romance about a newly single woman and her journey to find love again, from New York Times bestselling author Alice Clayton and USA Today Bestselling author Nina Bocci.

Avery Bardot steps off the plane in Rome, looking for a fresh start. She’s left behind a soon-to-be ex-husband in Boston and plans to spend the summer with her best friend Daisy, licking her wounds–and perhaps a gelato or two. But when her American-expat friend throws her a welcome party on her first night, Avery’s thrown for a loop when she sees a man she never thought she’d see again: Italian architect Marcello Bianchi.

Marcello was the man–the one who got away. And now her past is colliding with her present, a present where she should be mourning the loss of her marriage and–hey, that fettuccine is delicious! And so is Marcello…

Slipping easily into the good life of summertime in Rome, Avery spends her days exploring a city that makes art historians swoon, and her nights swooning over her unexpected what was old is new againromance. It’s heady, it’s fevered, it’s wanton, and it’s crazy. But could this really be her new life? Or is it just a temporary reprieve before returning to the land of twin-set cardigans and crustless sandwiches?

A celebration of great friendship, passionate romance, and wonderful food, Roman Crazy is a lighthearted story of second chances and living life to the fullest.

(Reviewed by Cathy Stansell of Rochelle’s Reviews)

After Avery Bardot’s life is taken a turn for the worse catching her husband and his assistant together, she decides to go to Rome to meet up with her friend Daisy. She wants to get away and enjoy Rome for just a little while. She needs to forget about all of her problems she left back at home. Her friend throws her a little welcome party and everything is great and she is having fun for the first time in a long while. Little did she know that she is going to run into the one man she feel in love with back when she was 21.

Marcello Bianchi is one hot sexy man. The problem is that she left this man that she had at one time. Things did not work out for them back then. Can things work out for them now?

Avery is a woman going through something most of us have been through. That is finding yourself again after everything falls apart. I enjoyed seeing her do this having had to do this myself one time. I was cheering for her through all of it. I wanted to see her and Marcello together but I also wanted her to grow strong. A strong woman to me is one that doesn’t have to count on a man.

This book is full of emotion, at times you will laugh and cry. The characters were all so believable. I love Avery, Marcello, Daisy and Fiona. Of course my favorite ones are Avery and Marcello, and that is because I kept pulling for them.

I love second chance romances. I have a weakness for them but this was not just a second chance romance. This was a second chance on life. Avery just needs to get a grip on her life and live it.

This book written by Alice Clayton and Nina Bocci is a wonderful read. I would suggest anyone that likes a nice funny, sad and crazy book. This is the one for you.
