Review: Max (Cold Fury Hockey #6) by Sawyer Bennett

Max by Sawyer BennettI submitted a request to the publisher/author via Net Galley to read and voluntarily review an uncorrected advance reader’s copy of this book

I have been immersed in so many different worlds by Sawyer Bennett and fallen so madly in love with each one of them that any time I am able to grab a new read that allows us to revisit one of her fictional worlds, I am there! This time Sawyer Bennett takes us back to visit another smokin’ hot athlete on the ice and watch another hero bite the dust in the game of love. Max had me glued to my kindle and ready to submit and give my heart to this guy that does not take no for an answer when he knows he has found the woman for him. Max and Jules are hot and sweet enough to melt a block of ice around any reader’s heart.

Max Fournier is a total bad ass on the ice but anyone who knows him well, knows that he is a softie when it comes to the people that mean the world to him. From the moment that he meets the stressed out, sleep deprived beauty Julianne at the gas station, he considers her to be part of the group of people that he cares about whether she wants to be or not and he will stop at nothing to have be his and help her in anyway that he can. Max absolutely seduced me with not just his looks and smoldering bedroom action but also his huge heart! I couldn’t help but fall hard and fast for this super star athlete who wants to give his Jules the world.

Julianne Bradley’s life as she knew it came crashing down on her four months ago when she lost her sister and became a mom to her sister’s three kids. She is slowly trying to pick up the pieces and give these kids the love and financial stability that they need but she finds herself stretched thin and unable to take care of herself until the most gorgeous guy strolls into her work and quickly becomes her hero. Jules is a heroine that you can’t help but admire with her heart of gold and the strength that she shows in the story from beginning to end.

Sawyer Bennett delivers us another hottie with a hockey stick that goes above and beyond to get his girl. I highly recommend Max for a sports romance that is sure to score in both your heart and your must read list. Sawyer Bennett has the ability to draw you into her fictional realities and make you feel like you are a part of that world whether it is vengeful seduction and murder, a fascinating sex club, or full of swoon worthy hockey players. I hope that Sawyer never puts down her pen and continues to entertain us with her stories.

The ice is a cold mistress. As the league’s most eligible goalie, Max Fournier has access to his fair share of willing puck bunnies, but right now he’s more interested in bringing home another championship than a one-night stand. A romantic at heart, Max believes in love; he’s just not great at relationships. So when he finally meets a nice girl who’s not blinded by his celebrity, he’s feeling the heat—and the pressure to save her from herself.

Between working two jobs and raising her sister’s kids, Julianne Bradley doesn’t have time for sports—or men. All she knows about Max is that he’s the sexiest customer to ever grace her gas-station counter. And he sees past her tired eyes and makes Jules yearn for things she can’t have: a glamorous fling, a passionate lover, and the time to enjoy both. Max makes her feel like Cinderella, even though Jules has enough baggage to crush a glass slipper. Luckily, he’s no prince—only a fierce competitor determined to win her heart.
