Official Review! Wrecked by JB Salsbury

Wrecked by JB Salsbury

When you can’t trust yourself, how can you ask anyone else to?

It’s been months since Aden Colt left the Army, and still the memories haunt him. When he moved into a tiny boat off the California coast, he thought he’d found the perfect place to escape life. Then Sawyer shows up and turns his simple life upside down. Beautiful and sophisticated, she seems out of place in this laid-back beach town. Something is pushing her to experience everything she can-including Aden. But as much as he wants her, starting a relationship with Sawyer puts them both at risk. For Aden, the past doesn’t stay there; it shows up unexpectedly, uncontrollably, and doesn’t care whose life it wrecks.

I received a copy via Net Galley and voluntarily left a review.

Having never read any books by JB Salsbury, I had no idea what kind of fictional journey I was getting ready to embark upon. The blurb for Wrecked left me curious and wanting to get to know more about this hero and heroine. It wasn’t long into Sawyer and Aden’s story that I was enthralled by their secrets, deceptions, and painful past and wanting to experience every aspect of their romance.

Sawyer Forrester is chasing away demons of her own and looking to broaden her planned and organized existence while pretending to be her carefree, exuberant sister. What she doesn’t plan on is meeting a gorgeous closed off man who makes her yearn to open doors that she would never have dreamed of. I loved getting to know Sawyer and seeing bits and pieces of her ‘scared always got to be in controlled” persona that so reminds me of myself. JB Salsbury shows us that opening up ourselves and loosing control can be a breathtaking experience and we should all learn to let go a little.

Aden Colt is out to punish the world including himself for his past. Until the most beautiful and confusing woman he has ever known is in his sights and he soon realizes that you can’t live in the past and close yourself off from a wonderful future. Aden kept me swooning and turning the pages as fast as I could to see how this stern, commanding, yet completely loveable hero would find happiness. I couldn’t wait for him to come to his senses and tell his “freckles” how he felt about her.

JB Salsbury delivers a love story that shows us that our past can hold us back or propel us towards an exhilarating future. I highly recommend Wrecked for a romance that will do just that to your emotions and then slowly put you back together again. I look forward to reading more of JB Salsbury’s books in the future and falling deeper in love with her poignant, soul gripping story telling and her amazing and dimensional characters!
