Official Review! Game On (Hometown Player #6) by Victoria Denault

Game On by Victoria Denault

“I don’t break hearts. I break headboards . . . “
When it comes to scoring in the pro hockey league, Alex Larue is crushing it-with the hot puck bunnies. He’s the life of the party, the guy with all the jokes . . . and the one whose Party Guy mask keeps the real him well hidden. The last thing he needs is anyone finding out about his troubled past, or the nightmares that haunt him still.

Brie Bennett is less than impressed by Alex from the moment she meets him. And even though he insists on volunteering at the charity she runs, she doesn’t trust him. He’s hiding something…but so is she. She’s not just the rich, privileged New York princess he thinks she is. The animosity between them is undeniably addictive and as their worlds keep colliding it becomes supercharged with something else – attraction. But if they stop playing games and let each other in, they both might lose.

Nothing excites me more than taking another fictional jaunt out onto the ice with more hockey heroes created by Victoria Denault. If there was ever an author that has a talent for combining love, passion, and hockey, it is Victoria. She always gives us the hottest Canadian French heroes that have all the right moves both on and off the ice. So I wasn’t surprised in the least to fall head over heels for Alex and be swept away in his whirlwind romance with Gabrielle. I couldn’t wait to dig deep and find more than just the playboy that has been hinted at in previous books in the series.

Alex Larue is new to the Brooklyn Barons hockey team and the city is not prepared for the guy who breaks as many hearts as he does rules on the ice. Little did I know that this hot Casanova would have such a moving story or that he would fall as hard as he does when he finally succumbs to love. He had me cheering just as hard for his happy ever after as I was for him to score during games.

Not only does Gabrielle Bennett have a huge heart but she is also a force to be reckoned with, which Alex finds out from their first meeting. Brie is a heroine to admire and emulate. Her charity and heart knows no bounds and she will do whatever she can to help kids who are less fortunate. I love how she never forgets the circumstances she came from and uses those experiences to shape her career and future.

Victoria Denault delivers a story full of not only desire and love, but passion for helping others. I highly recommend Game on for romance that is big on both heart and heat. Victoria outdid herself with this power house hero and heroine that are connected in ways that I could have never imagined. She never fails to solidify my place as one of her die hard fans with each new couple that she introduces that always score big with me and leave me panting after yet another of Victoria’s hockey player hotties!
