Five Fictional Best Friends that Turned to Something More…

When-Relationships-are-strongThe books that I most become attached to are not the ones that have the hottest cover(however swoonworthy they may be), but the ones that have best friends that fall in love. There is just something about friendships that after knowing all the flaws about one another, fall in love. I love reading about the butterflies that they get in their stomach and the inappropriate thoughts that they can’t suppress. It just sends shivers up and down my spine. When they finally realize that their own feelings are reciprocated I get excited and walk around in a goofy daze thinking about what they must feeling. Yes, I am a grown woman and not a sappy teenage girl…don’t judge..lol. So after long moments of remembering some of my favorite friend/lover couples, these are the finalists.

Caught by Erika Ashby and A. E. Woodward

The moment I read about Quinn and Chace, I fell in love with not only the Quinnisms but how much they truly cared for each other. From the moment that I read the first page, knowing that Chace was with Finley, I was all for Quinn and Chace becoming an item. The story starts at their graduation and we get to see Chace’s love for both Quinn and Finley and we see Quinn’s ambivalent feelings toward both of her best friends. I know what you are thinking, three hearts involved this is not going to end well, and you are right for at least one of them. We see the story through Chace and Quinn’s point of view until the last chapter when we are enlightened to Finley’s perspective and boy it is a shocker. Want to know more? The Claiming of Callan by Connie Lafortune

I can say that as this story progressed between Callan and Logan, that I was his to claim as well. Logan sacrificed so much for his family and my heart broke for him and Callan. To have to give up his neighbor and one true love to move his family accross the country just shattered me. Once they make it back to each other, they are so hot that they could singe the earth! He is beyond sexy and the tattoo of Callan on his back takes his bad boy persona up a notch, but all I see is the sweetness sprinkled with a little bit of dark sexiness when I think of him. I don’t know who is more in love with him me or Callan. Don’t take my word for it, check it out for yourself in this review of The Claiming of CallanThe Claiming of CallanThe Claiming of Callan by Connie Lafortune

TV Night and Leather by Maria Monroe

All I can say is if this is what happens when you cannot agree on a show to watch with your over the top muscular, sexy, bad boy best friend then let’s disagree some more baby! TV night is what fantasies are made of. One night of dissatisfied TV watching leads to insatiable curiosity and a night of debauchery between two people who mean so much to each other. The TV is no longer the focus of this evening and Jenna and Jace become the star of their own entertainment. If that isn’t enough, Maria brings us a scorching sequel in Leather that will have you feeling raw and whipped in the most delicious way. Get to know Jenna and Jace a little better in this review of TV Night and Leather, you will not regret it.

Jace and I are good at being “just friends,” and that was the first time he’d even come close to crossing the line. That look. It was the look someone gives you right before he moves in to take what he wants.

Bonus book! Worth The Risk by Emma Hart

I decided to take my own risk and list six instead of five books, I lied, it has been known to happen. I was beyond ecstatic when I found out that this book was going to be about the sweet, smoking hot, morally sound Kyle Braden from The Love Game. I instantly fell in love with his chivalrous ways and could not wait to read this book! When Kyle returns home over the summer to face the death of his best friend Cam. He finds that Roxy, Cam’s kid sister, has become a reckless party girl who uses men and alcohol to dull the pain. The last thing she expects is for her handsome teenage crush Kyle to come crashing back into her life. She is hurt and bewildered at his abandonment during her time of need and she does not want his help or this attraction. This book is a great reminder of how grief can be endured and can bring two people together in ways that they were meant to be. See my review of the complete series!

I shake my head. “Don’t. Don’t give me your sympathy, Kyle. Its six months too late.”

So check out my all time fav bestie couples. Maybe you too will fall in love with their smoldering passion that is buried under years of friendship and their fear that the world will come crashing down if they reveal their feelings. To say that this is one of my favorite directions that a romance novel can take is an understatement. So feel free to share your own favorite best-friend romance books and I will love you forever!
