by Natalie Gayle, it was proven again. Never have I read such a moving, inspiration work of romance. Sure, I love to read all different types of romance from the sweet, sexy, to dark and sensual. Among all of those types of romance, I have never read a more liberating book. It still had plenty of steam, who wouldn’t be aroused by Xander’s rock hard body and his take action personality. This book was about so much more than just passion between two people. It is about sacrifices, self hatred, guilt, and the love and bravery that conquers all. There is not a person who wouldn’t be able to feel a connection to the subject matter in this book. Everyone has fears and this story is about overcoming those fears and supporting and loving others as they overcome theirs as well.

While reading I found Xander to be sexy, patient, emotionally and physically strong, and he had the uncanny ability to see to the soul within instead of just the outer shell. To watch the way that Eden grows as a person because of Xander’s tutelage was at times painful to read but endearing and inspiring. Xander knows just when to push Eden and when to comfort and show her how precious she is to him. His perseverance and tenacity to protect Eden throughout the story just made me fall in love with him even more. Let’s just say he had me the first time he called her “Gem” the rest was just icing on the cake.

Time halted. My sisters faded into the background and I looked into the eyes of one of the most compelling people I had ever seen. Oh, he was handsome, but he was so much more.

First I felt gut wrenching sympathy for Eden and her circumstances, you didn’t really think I would give away the story by telling you more did you? By the middle of the book she had evoked a sense jaw dropping awe inside of me. To experience the pain both physically and emotionally, I can see why she was living in a shadow of her former life. Then to pull herself from the darkness into the light and hold her chin high is so influential to anyone who reads Brave.

I couldn’t let the girl I knew to be truly beautiful suffer one moment longer in whatever personal prison she was living in.

I felt such empathy for both of them and their circumstances and was completely inspired by their journey. I think what Natalie Gayle is trying to tell us is that we all have scars whether they are visible or not. It is how we deal with these scars that make us either the victim or the victor and we all have to make those choices for ourselves. We should also help others to deal with their scars and see the beauty within everyone. If you are looking for a love story that is sexy and will change your view of the world and yourself. Then be brave and read Xander and Eden’s story and you will fall in love and be impatiently waiting to read Dane’s story next. Maybe their story will help you fight your own “Oni” demons that live inside you.

Our lips met and I felt the flash of need and passion that always accompanied kissing Eden.

I received an ARC of Brave via Net Galley in exchange for an honest review.

A moment in time, that’s all it took. Beauty, pain and tragedy.
Xander “Pretty Boy” Todd was a demon in the ring. A professional MMA fighter with a career that had the world a buzz—but now it’s gone. Or is it?
Eden Sommers had her dreams of an international modelling career within her grasp—and lost it. Gone within a few seconds, leaving nothing but pain.
How do you go on, when the one thing that defines you is suddenly ripped away—only to leave scars and a hollow shell in its place? Has the beauty gone forever? Or has it just retreated—to now be hidden, and dormant; guarded by the inner demons?
Can these two wounded souls find the inner strength to fight back the demons together and find the beauty in their lives once again?
To do this, they must first accept—The hardest demons to defeat are the ones inside. They’ll have to be BRAVE.
